6AM Monday: Australia’s Best FM Content Directors Revealed

Radio Today will publish its annual ranking of Australia’s top five FM programmers in four categories at 6am on Monday.

The list of nominees – compiled from over 200 reader submissions and nominations from the networks – included 72 content directors.

Over 3,000 votes from RT readers, plus consultation with radio industry executives and insiders, contributed to the final list.

The four categories include Best Network or Group CD, Best Metro CD, Best Regional CD and Best Metro or Regional Assistant CD.

Ahead of tomorrow, RT can confirm many new program and content directors appear on the list, including a new Best Group or Network Content Director.

The content director’s role is one the most important positions within any radio station.

They are responsible for the overall ‘sound’ and direction; music, breakfast and drive shows, jocks, imaging, production, social media, execution of promotions and sales tactics and implementation of network shows.

A CD’s performance is, for the most part, measured on ratings performance.

These highly respected individuals program some of the most brilliant sounding radio stations in the market.
