4TO claims title of Townsville’s favourite station in 2017 survey
Last year’s survey was a neck-and-neck race between 4TO and Hit 103.1 Townsville (known at the time as HOT FM), but this year there is one clear winner.
A +1.2% gain in people 10+ gave 4TO the upper hand in the 2017 survey, claiming 22.9% of the audience. Hit 103.1 Townsville also held steady during the rebrand, up +0.7% compared to the last survey to 21.8%.
There were significant gains made by the other two local stations, with Power100 and Star 106.3 gaining +1.9% and +3.8% respectively among people 10+.
4TO made gain across all session but one, with breakfast host Pricey stealing the title of Townsville’s favourite show to wake up to from last survey’s winners Hit 103.1 Townsville.
There was a big shift in the evening session, with gains made by 4TO and the footy-fuelled Sportsday program Scott Sattler and Gary Belcher on Power 100.
Other big moves for this survey include:
- Star 106.3 gaining 8.8% among listeners aged 40-54
- Power 100 gaining 8.5% among listeners aged 55-64
- Hit 103.1 claiming 41.5% of the audience aged 18-24 – up from 38% last survey
