2GB’s Ross Greenwood talks how he turned dead air into a successful two-hour program on #YGSS

Staff Writer

On the latest episode of You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere (#YGSS), Rachel Corbett chats with Channel 9’s Business & Finance Editor and host of 2GB’s Money News, Ross Greenwood.

Ross started his career at The Melbourne Truth where his first assignment was to steal a poster and bring it back to the office.  From those humble beginnings, he moved up the journalism ladder working at The Australian and eventually running magazines like Business Review Weekly and Shares under the mentorship of finance guru, Robert Gottliebsen.

In this episode Ross talks about his secret shorthand skills, what it was like to run a magazine when he was 25 years old, how he turned dead air on 2GB into a successful two-hour program and why he always has a career escape plan.

You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere is a podcast that goes behind the scenes of show business to prove there’s no such thing as an overnight success.

Each week Rachel chats with well-known media personalities about how they got into the business, how they’ve managed to stay there and what it takes to build a successful career. Click here to subscribe to the podcast.
