2DayFM Breakfast alumni made for TV as Kyle, Rove & Harley Breen’s Pilot Week shows go to series

Former Assistant Editor

Network Ten has officially confirmed one of its worst-kept secrets: Trial By Kyle featuring Kyle Sandilands is being made into a full series.

As reported by Radio Today Kyle dropped the news himself last month on the Kyle and Jackie O show, though there was no official announcement or confirmation from Ten.

Now the network has revealed that Trial By Kyle will become a series in 2019, along with three other Pilot Week Shows.

Two of the other pilots to have been picked up feature fellow former 2DayFM Breakfast hosts Rove McManus (Bring Back Saturday Night) and Harley Breen (Taboo).

The final show to go to series is Kinne Tonight starring comedian Troy Kinne.

“We had a great time bringing new programming ideas to our audiences and were very happy with the overall response through live audience numbers, 10 Play and social media,” said Network Ten chief content officer Beverley McGarvey.

“We listened to feedback and combined this with range of other measures from timeslot to demographic performance before deciding which programs we would commission to a full series.

Taboo, Kinne Tonight, Trial By Kyle and Bring Back Saturday Night will air on 10 in 2019 as full series, representing a serious investment in unique and local production.

“These shows complement our fantastic slate of programming for 2019 and cements 10’s role as the innovator, and sometimes wild child, of Australian commercial TV.”

Channel 10 is the innovator?
– Rove is Daryl Somers
– Kyle is Judge Judy
– Taboo is Australian Story (with a laugh track)

I am not sure if Channel 10 is going back to 1983, 1997 or 2009.
