Each year Southern Cross Austereo throw their weight behind a campaign to raise money for urgently needed equipment for children's hospitals around the country.

'Give Me 5 for Kids' has raised $400k more than last year making it a total of 1.9 million dollars.

With the help of many of the high profile SCA personalities like Merrick Watts, Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy, Dave Gleeson, Matt Preston, Shannon Ponton and Jason Dunstall, it also saw many events held in regional centres (like this story from Mackay here)

Some of the items to be purchased with the money donated include :-

  • Video goggles – so kids can watch DVD's while having an MRI
  • A new non-invasive bladder scanner, especially designed for kids
  • A play house, DVD's and iPads that will bring entertainment to help the days go faster

SCA CEO, Rhys Holleran said…

“So many people around the country have been involved in this year’s campaign, and it’s a credit to their hard work that we will be able to fulfill numerous wish list items for our local children’s hospitals.”
